Chicago (Warning: Really long rambles ahead)

So, sorry for the excessive amount of photos here, but I have a lot of explaining to do and these will help me.
Not really.
So I get that I've been kind of missing for a month or so now, which I apologize greatly for, but a lot of things are going on around here that had me stressed beyond belief and I just wasn't up to making a blog post or anything (please forgive me!)
Well, to start, I've gotten into Homestuck. Greatly. Like. . .I'm obsessed with it now. It's bad. But anyways, other than that, these photos are from my recent trip to Chicago with my school's orchestra and I thought "Why not just put my deviant art journal entry in here"? And thus, this blog entry was formed.
Warning: extremely long post ahead. But it'll explain a lot. To clear some things up beforehand: Ruby is one of my closest friends, Peter is my boyfriend of nearly four years, and Bobby is my friend Rose's boyfriend. Here we go!
Best part of the trip: Aaah, um, I think I'd have to say Sear's Tower was my favourite. We got our poor friend Bobby to confront his fear of heights and I got some amazing pictures looking out on Chicago and looking straight down on the glass floor (which instantly brought my to my knees, might I add. Literally, here's me: -Walks onto the glass, looks down, and is suddenly on knees just staring and thinking "Well. . .crap"-)
Worst part of trip: Other than the freakish wind, I caught a pretty bad cold that's just awful to deal with. Also, I'm a girl, yes my suitcase was heavy (mainly from food that I packed xD) and it was pretty gosh-darn bad that on the first day there if we weren't Cello or Base players we had to carry our stuff up the stairs to our rooms (I was on the third floor, mind you, and the stairs stopped at the second and started again all the way down the hall on the other side of the floor. Not a fun experience! My shoulders were very sore for the rest of the trip!)
I got amazing pictures there (And Ruby decided to get a montage of Peter giving me some PDA and put it on facebook ;; ) and I was very surprised to see that even though we were downtown 95% of the trip, Chicago is a quite clean city (that's HUGE, seriously, trains going through it and it took us forty minutes to an hour to get from our hotel on one side of Chicago to where we were going on the other side, and that was if traffic wasn't bad!), and the people there are very nice! I saw no racism, no crude comments, no snide remarks, no glares, no odd staring, people there were dressed very nice, and, well, we only saw three people that were most likely on drugs ;-;
Sorry, give me a minute, my nose is really stuffy and I can barely breathe. -Takes minute to blow nose and quietly loathe old healthy self- So, I think the only problem my body had with Chicago (despite my cold) was the fact that the difference in altitude, climate, and just the city weather caused me to break out pretty badly, so ladies (and gentlemen), be prepared for the reddening breakout of your skin if you're not used to city climates! I felt pretty grungy last night when I got back after sitting on a bus for six hours and being in the city for four days with one shower to keep me going (yes, judge me, but I was in a room with three other teenage girls that either made time that morning for a shower before we woke up or at night around eleven or even midnight. It's hard!) so last night I just took a long shower, shaved, washed my hair, did a pore-cleansing face mask, scrubbed down my body, and now I just feel nice and clean after getting the rest of the city out of my system.

So, now you all know what I've been up to for the past few days, but that doesn't explain my previous hiatus. Well, I have an explanation, but I don't feel comfortable sharing it here so apologies to you all, I'll try to be more active from now on ;-;
And if you haven't noticed, I've taken the watermark off of my photos. I think it was just a phase of paranoia, even though my photos are so amateur I don't think anyone would WANT to steal them ;-; Just ask me if you want to use them for something! Really, I probably won't mind, but just ask first!
Okay, so I'll leave you all with this long post to keep you company until I get some newer pictures up, maybe a new lens or two for my Nikon, and. . .um. . .yeah. Bye guys! ^-^

Extra super long post today!

SO. First half of this extra long post that I actually have time to get around to making ;-;
I'm so sorry I've been neglecting this blog. Please, bear with me, but things just haven't been going very well lately. For others and for myself. And the weather just hasn't been so amazing to get some pictures lately- then again maybe it's just that my house happens to be surrounded by more houses and trees that block away the pretty sky and normally I'm in school when it looks beautiful outside. But yeah. Here are a couple of pictures I got about a week ago either through my front window or of my kitten that I just had to share with you all. ; v ; Aaaah.

Second half:
Yesterday from 2:30 to 8:00 P.M. I was at a Relay for Life fundraiser dinner with my family and one of my closest friends that has been in my life for legitimately about thirteen years now and is my loving polar opposite (I got a picture of her but I don't think she'd be very comfortable with my putting it on my blog ^-^). And I got many more pictures while I was there but these two were the only really serious ones along with the fact that, let's face it, I'm a woman (really? Yes e_e) and I get something once a month that you learn about in Health class and it's been rendering me basically immobile and useless all day. So with that said, I'll let you guys know that I hope to get some more pictures soon, and now I think I'll go and catch up on some sleep for a few hours before I work on my research project for English. ^-^ Bye-bye

Hello there everyone~

So many pictures, oh jeez, didn't think. . .wow.
So for the first three, I was finally testing out my Nikon ^-^ The first two pictures were taken with my 18-55 mm lens and the last one was taken with my 55-200 mm lens. And the last two were just some strange, unimportant pictures I got on Thursday from when I was making these yummy French fudge cakes for my French class' culture/food day on Friday >.< T'was an agonizing process. I didn't sleep for two days from the sugar and near-pound of chocolate used to make these. But there, you see (partially) me with my sleepy eyes, messy air-dried hair and the kitten that only stops attacking me when I turn the camera to her.
Enjoy your day everybody!

Sunrise, rainbows, and excuses

  There was such a pretty sunrise a couple of weeks ago (I can't believe I forgot to put these up at the time) so I got some pictures. Now, being an insomniac I found myself awake the entire night before, so heading outside in Vans wearing no socks, baggy sweatpants, and some old shirt that I scavenged from my closet was not my first idea to do at seven in the morning, but after getting some good pictures and turning around to witness the lovely rainbow you see there, I think it was worth staying up to find.
  You all can look forward to some better pictures coming up as well, because the camera I used for these pictures was my old broken Fujifilm that a close friend gave me last summer and just last week for my birthday I received a Nikon D3000 with an 18-55 mm lens and a 55-200 mm lens as well.
  Now, I apologize for only now updating, but as of late I've been really distracted. I still have school, you know! Plus I'm in the process of editing a novel with a deadline of June 30th, so I should really get working. And just last night one of my closest friend's house caught fire, so I'm going through the process of possibly starting a store on Storenvy to raise money to help her recover some of the things she's lost due to smoke damage (in all, house damage consisted of a destroyed back wall, living room, and bedroom, and everything else is mainly smoke damage- still not a good thing!) With that said, have a nice day everyone!

Welcome to my escape.

Welcome to my escape.
My escape is photography.
It gives me a way out of the world of "today"
But it also gives me an entrance to a new world.
This world is beautiful; filled with colour and places and things that you couldn't imagine existed.
It gives me a little peek at the impossibilities of reality
And allows me to escape from those bonds.
Here, I will give you a peek of my world.
My reality.
My escape.

My name is Erin.
And all I can say now, to anyone that's at the door of my reality,
Is welcome.
